I guess it is safe to say that Dell has been in on a bit of a surprise spree as of late. Earlier this year, the company initiated plans to go private again, a move that it recently completed.
And last month, it surprised the technology world by reviving its old Venue brand.
A few new tablet devices were unveiled under this particular name, and now the Dell Venue 11 Pro has popped up on the company’s official web store. Users are invited to place their preorders — however, the estimated shipping date has been set between December 6 and December 13.
So there is a wait of pretty much a month that has to be taken into account.
Anyway, here are the specifications of the device. The base model starts at $499, and gets users a tablet powered by the Intel Atom processors Z3770 paired with 2GB of memory. A 10.8-inch screen with 1920 by 1080 pixels and ten point capacitive touch is part of the package.
Storage is listed at 64GB, with Windows 8.1 as the operating system and Office Home and Student 2013 bundled with every unit. In terms of cameras, users get an 8 megapixel main one on the front, and a 2 megapixel snapper on the front.
Now this, may not be the most potent configuration for power users.
If that is the case for you, then the company also offers several customization options including a choice between the Intel Core i3 4020Y or Core i5 4210Y processors. 4GB or memory is available in this configuration along with Intel GT2 graphics.
Price increases quite a bit for this flavor — $799 for the i3 model and $849 for the i5 powered one.

Looks quite promising. I am pretty much sold on getting a Surface Pro, but this deserves some serious consideration given higher-end specs and a surface-like keywords (available)
