Lay it on the coronavirus pandemic currently raging across the globe, but this was the reason why Microsoft had to hold its BUILD 2020 developer conference virtually.
With no in-person event, attendees this year missed out on all the free t-shirts, stickers and other swag that they normally might pick up at the physical gathering. But with the event now free for all, with news that over 100,000 people tuning in, Microsoft is doing its best to make up for it.
For starters, if you were one of the first 1,000 to register, the company already sent out some stickers, a lunchbox, and a virtual event badge.
But there are more goodies for everyone else.
The digital swag has been posted on GitHub, and it includes some neat BUILD themed desktop wallpapers, a Twitter header that can be used on your profile, and Apple Watch faces. All this digital stuff is offered in a variety of dark and light themes to suit your taste.
Oh, and if your taste is in wallpapers, then Scott Hanselman shared some rather excellent wallpapers form his keynote. You can find them in all their glory on WallpaperHub.
By the looks of things, BUILD 2021 next year is also being billed as a digital event.
Hopefully, we’ll have even more exciting digital swag up for grab then.
