After three full weeks, Microsoft has made available a new version of the preview, releasing Windows 10 build 16273 for users enrolled in the Fast ring of the program.
The company intended to release a new preview build two weeks back, but those plans had to be scrapped after the discovery of a blocking bug in internal testing. Another installation bug prevented the launch last week as well.
But here we are finally, with a new version, which is pretty much the next release after build 16257 was made available to Insiders on August 2.
As the company notes, there are a couple of new additions here.
Starting with emoji notifications with My People, where you can test the notifications on the desktop by adding the new Windows Insider Emoji Bot to your taskbar, and asking it to send you some emojis. Good thing for those into the emojis, this.
Another interesting addition is the new Bahnschrift font, the new OpenType font, which is now included in builds.
This is basically a new rendition of the DIN font standard, but packs in an entire typeface into a single file with infinite variability. Different weights like Light, Regular, and Bold are all included and duplexed, in what is a very interesting new font technology.
So, that about covers it, in terms of new features, which goes to show that the software titan is now entering the phase where it will primarily be fixing bugs and adding polish to the OS.
Ahead of the launch in September, of the Fall Creators Update.
