Words I like to hear! Microsoft has released ISO files for the latest build in the Dev channel, Windows 11 build 25140, which just made its way out after quashing some bugs.
Insiders now have access to this new version of the preview, both direct and in ISO form.
The latter allows them to deploy this build as a clean install on their test system or a virtual machine if they are into that sort of thing. The clear benefit of these types of files is that you can install the latest preview without updating an existing installation.
And it is truly worth deploying this latest version of the preview.
For starters, build 25140 is part of the Sun Valley 3 development branch, the OS version that will be released to users next year in 2023—as Windows 11 version 23H2. This means you need to be there to test the latest features that Microsoft is adding to the platform.
You know, things like tabs in File Explorer and whatnot.
Since this official ISO release is only available to Insiders, you must be enrolled in the Windows Insider Program to proceed. To get the download link, log in with your Microsoft account at the link below.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Windows 11 preview versions require activation via a genuine Windows key, just like the stable release of the operating system.
If you want to upgrade to build 25140, you can do so via Windows Update, as usual.
