Hand it to Microsoft for issuing lightening quick updates, even to Preview versions of its operating system. The company has just released the first set of updates aimed at Windows 8.1 Preview devices.
These updates try to several of the bugs that users have found (and reported) in the test version of the first major upgrade to the Windows 8 platform.
A post on WindowsObserver, says that this new wave of updates is supposed to fix a number of problems, including stalled Internet Explorer 11 downloads, crashing Windows Store apps, and some bugs that affect Google services.
As is usually the case, all patches are being delivered by the integrated Windows Update option.
If you have deployed Windows 8.1 Preview, just fire up the Windows Update feature and begin the downloading process — no further action is required.
These fixes are aimed at both desktop computers and laptops that are running the brand new Windows 8.1 Preview, but also tablet users that have devices powered by Windows RT.
And considering how these things go, this batch is probably the first of many. Microsoft is expected to release several new patches in the comings weeks and months, as users find and report bugs, issues and problems in Windows 8.1 Preview.
The software titan would want to fix all of them in time for the release of the RTM version.
