details about the device at Microsoft’s BUILD 2014 developer conference, now we can see the device in action, thanks to the first ad the Nokia have rolled out for this affordable Windows powered smartphone. This new commercial clocks in at slightly over 1 minute, meaning there is a fair chance that it (or some portions of it) will be shown on television screens around the world when the Lumia 635 goes on sale. The ad highlights both the hardware and software capabilities of the phone. View it here, first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0nb08Gtl60 Loud and borderline obnoxious choice of music, but I guess, it makes the clip more noticeable. At least the ad goes over many of the new features of Windows Phone 8.1, along with exclusive services like Mix Radio, and HERE Maps, the latter of which are now available offline. And obviously, it glosses over the fact that the smartphone does not come with a front facing camera, but you already knew that, right? A 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 854 by 480 pixels, along with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processors and 512MB RAM are the primary hardware highlights. Along with 8GB of internal storage capacity and a 5 megapixel rear facing camera. No release date yet, but one can make a case that this is next.]]>

  • Really sharp looking phone. Outside of the brutal music, it was an effective ad. We will see if this translates to more sales.

  • The phone sounds good, but I couldn’t get past the sound from the commercial. An awful song! What were they thinking?!

  • “…Loud and borderline obnoxious…” I can help you with both. Loud, there is a volume control on your device. Borderline obnoxious, just read the world new or even the Chicago headlines and this music will not seem as bad. Have a good day 😉
