Now, that’s what I call blockbuster success! Forza Horizon 5, the latest smash hit from Xbox Game Studios has joined another title from the publisher in surpassing the 20 million player mark.
That other title, obviously, is Halo Infinite.
The open-world racer hit this milestone scarcely half a year after its November 4, 2021 release.
This is, according to a VG Chartz report, which collected the number from the in-game leaderboards section. This figure is particularly impressive because Forza Horizon 5 reached half this number in its first week alone.
The 10 million players that played the game in the first week of its launch made it the biggest game launch in the history of both Xbox Game Studios and Xbox Game Pass. In fact, it surpassed its predecessor, Forza Horizon 4, by three times the number of players on their respective launch days.
This next news may be about as unsurprising as it gets.
It recently emerged that the sixth installment in the racing series is now in active development, just six months after the current title hit store shelves.
Things may be very early for Forza Horizon 6, but as the job listing revealed, Microsoft is going all out for what truly is a cornerstone game series for its Xbox line of business. Halo and Forza Horizon are the pillars on which the platform currently stands.
Job well done!
