The good news is the wait is now OVER– if you are willing to flash your device, that is.
Thanks to the geniuses over at the XDA Developer Forums, there is now several threads with detailed instructions on where to find the files needed and how to flash your phone to Windows Phone 7.8 ahead of the scheduled arrival.
If you have actively been involved in the modding scene for other platforms like Android, you might feel comfortable doing stuff like this, but it isn’t for everyone.
There is always a chance that if you mess up you could end up bricking your device, though this generally is a pretty rare occurrence.
For those that just want to wait it out for the official release of Windows Phone 7.8 for their device, you might not be waiting much longer.
The latest rumor suggests that Windows Phone 7.8 will in fact launch this coming Wednesday.
