Maybe. Probably. Looks like Microsoft may finally be bringing Halo 5: Guardians to PC, after skipping the two previous mainline games in the series, which are still exclusive to the Xbox consoles.

Of course, Redmond has shown determination on bringing most of its games to Windows 10.

Plus, it’s not like the Halo series is stranger to the platform — not only is the upcoming Halo Infinite is destined to arrive on the PC when it launches in the future, but games like the Halo Wars line of strategy titles and even mobile titles like the warmly received Halo: Spartan Assault also call the PC home.

Anyway, even though Phil Spencer said otherwise, it appears that Halo 5 will be able to do the same really soon.

The head of Xbox downplayed the chances of a PC Port for this game, citing the fact that it was designed specifically as a console FPS. Developer 343 Industries, meanwhile, said that there was a good chance, as porting it to PC would not be that hard.

And here we are, with rumors that a PC version for Windows 10 is incoming.

That is because this Amazon page for Halo 5: Guardians now has an “Xbox Console Exclusive” banner, as opposed to the “Only On Xbox One” banner that it previously carried. This image below provides a clear look at the change:

Halo 5 Box Arts

This is a label that has already appeared on games that are part of the company’s Xbox Play Anywhere initiative that sees users that purchase titles on the Xbox also gaining access to them on Windows 10.

Microsoft is yet to confirm that Halo 5 will be such a title, and the official store has also not changed the platform details. But the Amazon update is certainly compelling evidence.

Could be big.
