And beyond. Microsoft started the day by releasing the Windows 10 May 2020 Update. And among the new additions in this release are new Cortana improvements on multiple platforms.

Android, iOS, and Windows 10, all in.

Talk about the new Cortana experiences in the OS are not new. These changes are now available for users in the United States. And in a separate announcement, Redmond has announced these improvements for its digital assistant.

First up, new capabilities are coming to Play My Emails, which is a Cortana feature built into the Outlook app on iOS. This feature was first announced at Ignite last year. And it is now coming to the Outlook app on Android in the next few weeks.

The new update makes it possible to schedule a meeting in response to an email, respond to meeting invitations via voice or touch, join an online meeting, or warn other participants that you are late. You can also add emails to a task list to get to them when you are able to use a PC.

The other major new feature is the Cortana briefing email.

It was also unveiled at the Ignite conference last year, but is only making its way out to users now. When enabled, Cortana will send you an email at the start of each day, helping you prepare for upcoming meetings or other tasks you need to do during that day.

This feature is only available for Microsoft 365 Enterprise users that use Exchange Online mailboxes in English. And that too, only the First Release customers at that.

But it will be rolled out for more users in due time.

Speaking of due time, Windows 10 users are finally now treated to the new Cortana experience that cuts back on those consumer facing features. But it brings along a more conversational UI for the digital voice assistant, along with new productivity options.
