Boy, along with a redesigned operating system, we are also getting a redesigned Windows Store. Microsoft confirmed this when it unveiled Windows 8.1 a week or so back, but few other specifics were provided.
Needless to say, the Windows Store will get major UI improvements around the time Windows 8.1 hits general availability, and while the software titan has kept most of the changes secret, it decided to show a little image of the reworked Windows Store at Computex 2013.
As can be seen from the above screenshot published by WinBeta, the redesign is going to make it easier for users to find the apps they are looking for.
Each category will better showcase its top apps, and a new search bar will reduced the time spent on opening a specific application. More changes are likely to be detailed soon, probably at the BUILD developer conference in San Francisco later this month.
The Windows Store is increasingly gaining more and more importance for Redmond.
Microsoft plans to make it the only way to get the new Windows 8.1, and the company will use its apps repository to distribute the upcoming refresh of its operating system freely to all users that have already purchased Windows 8.
