Microsoft introduced a new feature in Windows 10 with the Creators Update, called the Game Mode, that optimizes how the operating system handles game performance.
Turning on the Game Mode will allow you to activate it from the Game bar for the UWP and Win32 titles you play on your system. Not every game works with Game Mode right now, and although the improvements it brings are a bit hit or miss, it never hurts to have this on while gaming.
Let’s learn how you can turn Game Mode on or off for your account in Windows 10.
1. Open Settings.
2. Click or tap on the Gaming icon.
3. Select the Game Mode section on the left side, and then turn on or off the Use Game Mode toggle on the right side. It is enabled systemwide by default, in case you’re wondering, meaning Windows 10 tries to optimize the performance for any and all games that you play on your PC.
