launch one of the first notebooks powered by the AMD Mullins platform, in the form of the HP Pavilion 10z, which can be yours for as little as $250. Another magic figure for the Windows 8.1 party. The performance should be around the same mark as the Intel Atom family, although these new chips from AMD deliver better graphic performance. Still the Mullins platform is exclusively designed for low cost tablets and notebooks. And this is exactly what this new device is, starting with the small 24Whrs battery that is only good enough for 4 hours before necessitating the need for a recharge. Other hardware specifications are also quite in line with the budget nature of this device. You get a 10-inch screen with a 1366 by 768 pixels resolution, powered by the AMD E1 Micro-6200T dual-core processor with a 300MHz AMD Radeon 2 graphics chip. This solution only requires a TDP footprint of 3.95W. A solid 2GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, a couple of USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports each, HDMI, Ethernet, stereo speakers, headset jack and a SD Card reader round up the hardware specifications.]]>

All in all, it sounds like a pretty nice option if you’re looking to spend as little as possible on a solid device. I’ve never really encountered any issues with HP, so I would definitely consider this if I was in the market for a cheaper laptop.
