In the mood for a small and affordable Windows 8.1 device? How about a touchscreen laptop with a 10-inch screen real estate? If so, then HP has got you covered with the TouchSmart 10 Mini notebook.

The newly introduced device offers a decent balance of prowess and mobility.

HP has put up the TouchSmart 10 on its official shopping website for $350, though interestingly Microsoft is offering the same notebook on Microsoft Store for a notably friendlier price tag of $299. Regardless, of the price, we sure have come a long way from the days of netbooks, this much is certain.

Under the hood you will find an AMD A-1200 Temash low power chip that delivers midrange performance. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and graphical duties are handled by the AMD Radeon HD 8180 graphics chip.

The base model of this laptop is equipped with a 320GB hard drive, which is more than enough for most needs, though HP also allows the option of a 500GB disk if the model is ordered off its website.

A USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports, along with HDMI out, an SD card reader, Ethernet jack and WiFi handle connectivity and communication — the only notable omission is Bluetooth.

This small and handy laptop boasts up to 5 hours of battery life, and weighs just 1.45 kg (3.2 pounds).
