spiraling that a new HTC smartphone powered by the Windows Phone operating system is set for launch very soon, and it appears that the company has started sending out press invites for an event in New York next month. As this report reveals, this probably is the launch event for the Windows Phone variant of the One M8, creatively titled HTC One M8 for Windows. The event is scheduled for August 19, while rumors have claimed that the smartphone would be shipped to Microsoft Stores on August 20, ahead of its public debut on August 21. Add one, two and three together, and you have pretty much solved the puzzle. Now obviously, the long awaited handset should please fans of HTC, as well as Windows Phone, as this device is expected to arrive with Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 onboard — and with it, the features exclusive to this latest version of the mobile operating system. Plus who knows, if this sells well enough, HTC might be tempted to introduce true new handsets, a full range of them at varying price points, instead of just altered versions of Android flagships. Maybe, maybe.]]>

This is another sign of confirmation. The reunion has been a long time coming for me. One of my favorite hardware vendors Microsoft has ever used!
Hey where is my invite? Seriously, though I hope HTC can do something to repair their image because a lot of of what has been going on the last year has been BS on their part. They can redeem themselves by really getting behind this phone this time around
Very true the 8XT doesn’t count, Sprint took a decent phone and screwed it up same with the Samsung ATIV Neo. That wasn’t HTC’s fault (well they could have said no when Sprint asked them to make a watered down version of the 8X), but Sprints for continually dissing Windows Phone. Then when it doesn’t sell they blame Windows Phone and not their POS version of it, or that their sales people either don’t know crap about Windows Phone or they try and sell you anything but a Windows Phone.
The good news is I hear this phone might be a version of the HTC One M8 with Windows Phone.
The bad news is I hear it may only be for Verizon.
