Intel seems to have finally taken back its throne with the launch of its 12th-generation processor lineup, Alder Lake, which is fully optimized for Windows 11.

These chips house the latest hardware features, including support for technologies like DDR5 and PCI Express 5.0.

The desktop variants made their way out to store shelves not too long ago, going by as Alder Lake-S. And now the chip giant is ready to unleash the mobile variants, Alder Lake-P, which seem primed to take the laptop and tablet world by storm.

The Executive Vice President of Intel, Gregory Bryant, tweeted today that Intel is shipping these upcoming mobile processors to OEMs so that they can integrate them into upcoming laptops.

In terms of hardware, Alder Lake-P will allegedly be available in two primary configurations.

Out of the two, the lower-end SKU is said to feature two Golden Cover Performance cores and eight Gracemont Efficiency cores. The higher-end one is expected to feature six performance cores along with eight efficiency cores.

The launch of both the Alder Lake-P and Alder Lake-M CPUs should not be too far off now that these chips are shipping to hardware makers.

Speculation points to Intel launching these new chips at CES 2022.

The anticipated event could also usher in the latest in Windows laptops from vendors like ASUS, Acer, HP, Dell, Lenovo, and more. And, in time, Microsoft is also sure to pack them in its newer Surface line of devices.

Can’t wait.
