Bloomberg that the company has “no plans” to port Angry Birds Space to Microsoft’s mobile OS. As we all should know by now, Angry Birds is currently one of the top selling games on all platforms (EVER) and the top-selling Windows Phone app. Vesterbacka cited the difficulty of porting the software to Windows Phone as the major hurdle.
“If you look at activations, Apple’s iOS and Android are clearly bigger than any other platform. We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it’s a lot of work to technically support it.”Well, that must have been received like a nuclear weapon going off in Redmond because a little while later, the story changed a little. Reuters now reports a quote from Rovio CEO Mikael Hed saying that Angry Birds Space will actually have a Windows Phone 7 version and it’s being worked on. This is a little confusing as two officials from Rovio are giving out contradictory information. Hopefully Microsoft will get this straightened out soon.]]>
