Fans of Nokia Lumia 520 (and Lumia 521) were pleased to learn that the Finnish company has big plans for what is currently its bestselling smartphone around the globe.
The Lumia 525 was previously leaked as Nokia Glee, and was positioned as the spiritual successor of the entry level Lumia 520 — if smartphones have spiritual successors, that is. In essence, this promises to be just another affordable handset, meaning just another success for the platform.
Having said that, Nokia seems to have lined up some pretty neat improvements.
Anyway, this latest leak comes from the Chinese certification agency TENAA, and means that the Lumia 525 may be ready to hit the store shelves in the coming weeks, probably just around the start of the holiday shopping season.
On first look the smartphone looks eerily similar to the Lumia 520 handsets that are currently available on the market, but the source claims that these images are indeed of the upcoming 525.
Details on the hardware specifications are not available in the documents filed by Nokia.
However, previous rumors on the matter suggest that the Nokia Lumia 525 will sport a WVGA capacitive touchscreen display (pixel resolution of 800 by 480, by the way) to go with a dual-core processor and 1GB of memory.
More information should be heading our way soon enough.
