Unlike Acer, ASUS seems to have found some success with its Windows powered tablet offerings. The company is now preparing another new 8-inch slate that has recently been spotted at the FCC.

And now a (very blurry) leaked image has surfaced along with detailed specifications of what is reportedly the ASUS VivoTab Notes 8, bearing the code M80TA.

This new information from a German website shows what appears to be a competitively priced Windows 8.1 tablet that offers support for a Wacom stylus. Expected price tag for the whole bundle is said to be €299 in Europe and $299 in America.

The report also details the specifications of the device, which are rather close to what Dell is offering with its Venue Pro 8 — but hey, no complains here.

You get a serviceable resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels on an 8-inch display. A dual-core Intel Atom Bay Trail processor running at 1.8GHz is coupled with the standard 2GB of memory.

More standard stuff follows with storage choices coming in at either 32GB or 64GB, expandable via the included microSD card slot. WiFi and Bluetooth are almost certain, 3G/4G LTE connectivity not as much, but the tablet will be one of the lightest ones around at just 380 grams when it launches.

We should have more on this soon nearer to release.
