The Notification Center Microsoft is preparing for Windows Phone 8.1 has been in the news for a few months now, and some previously leaked images even provided us with an early look at this feature.
But now screenshots from multiple sources confirm the existence — and it looks great.
A couple of these were published first on a blog, and then The Verge followed suite by leaking another one. All seem to be legit, and show that Redmond is doing a neat job of carefully optimizing this useful new addition to its mobile operating system.
One of the screenshots actually shows a confidential email sent between Microsoft employees that details some of the features in Windows Phone 8.1, including the Action and Notification Center. You can take a look at it below:
As you can see from these images, the main highlight of these screenshots are the various options to enable and disable connectivity features like Driving, WiFi, Bluetooth and Airplane mode.
Up until now, Windows Phone did not actually allow users to quickly enable or disable connectivity options this way, and it seems Windows Phone 8.1 will finally fix this issue.
Users will also have the ability to clear all notifications with the push of a button. Battery percentage will also be displayed, allowing users to quickly get an idea of just how much juice remains in their device.
All things considered, Windows Phone 8.1 is shaping up as an update that not only delivers in terms of new features, but also optimizes the various aspects of the mobile operating system to bring it capabilities up to speed with competing solutions.
It is expected to be officially unveiled in early April at the BUILD developer conference.
