Lenovo must be kidding right?

Looks nice enough right? Well, reports are that Lenovo are going to price this at 1200 Pounds. From CNET:

The Yoga is an ultrabook laptop with a folding screen that bends over backwards to turn the thing into a tablet, like the Asus Eee PC T101MT. It’s powered by Windows 8, the next generation of Microsoft’s venerable operating system which will run both computers and tablets. The basic model costs £1,200, and a more powerful Core i7 model costs an even morekundalini-disturbing £1,500.
Can I ask who in their right minds would pay almost $2000 for a Lenovo Ultrabook? I mean no matter how sleek and “sexy’ it’s meant to be, that’s just an unconscionable amount of money. This to me is the first sign that greedy OEM’s may be planning to overplay their hands when it comes to Windows 8. Note to OEM’s – higher value and lower prices is the way to go. What do you think? Would you pay $1500 to $2000 for the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga?]]>

    • Gasoline in California..  *snickers* if you only knew….
Anywho, pigs will fly before I’d chuck that much Money at a laptop when I can get better/cheaper elsewhere.

  • Yes, it is much more expensive than I expect. So it will be in premium range. But I paid $2000 for the 1st gen Envy 15 notebook, so price is not a key factor. We will have to wait and see if it is worth it.

  • Lenovo is out of their minds, with their egos taking control of logic. As much as I want Windows 8 on a tablet, I will never support this kind of pricing.
