  • I wonder how affective these will be as a replacement to Microsoft security. I assume it won’t be as good, but if it’s good enough, maybe people can get by with it.

    • I have to imagine it’s nowhere near as effective, but only time will tell. I would still say the best option for XP users is to just upgrade and pay the money required to get windows 7 or 8.

  • I used to have a bunch of these free anti-virus programs on my XP computers and it always seemed to do more harm than good. I may have been using the wrong programs, but I don’t think these will be terribly effective.

    • Not recommend to use a lot of anti-virus. Just pick a good one. If you don’t, you just don’t know that you get harmed. Doesn’t mean your computer is healthier.

  • Is this a program that’s truly free or that will just do a scan for you, tell you what’s wrong, and make you pay for the program to fix it? Those are the worst. Lol

  • How long is the life? Your life or mine?

  • Why? I can understand supporting for a while, but everyone that has anything to do with the PC industry should be helping to move people off XP

  • This means nothing coming from anti-virus/malware companies. The only thing you need to support is the programs ability to run on the operating system. The definitions are agnostic to operating systems. Marketing ploy again.
