No Surface announcement is complete without a cornucopia of accessories. And Microsoft is in no mood to disappoint today. The company has announced a whole range of new Surface branded stuff.
To go with things like the Surface Go 2, the Surface Book 3, the Surface Headphones 2, and the Surface Earbuds, all of which are about to hit the store shelves.
Alongside these products comes an array of accessories.
Starting with the Surface Dock 2, which packs considerable improvements over its predecessor.
It still connects via the Surface Connect port, though. But you now get four USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C ports that are good for 10Gbps data transfer. Two of these are video enabled, and can be used for 15W fast charging.
Then you have two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a gigabit Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Surface Dock 2 is priced at $259.99, and will be available later this month.
A new arrival alongside it is the USB-C Travel Hub. This is smaller and connects via USB Type-C, but you get a more diverse range of ports with it. There is one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, and even VGA.
It will also be available later this month, and costs a much more manageable $99.99.
To complete the package, Microsoft has also introduced a couple of new desktop accessories. First of which is the Microsoft Bluetooth Desktop set, priced at $59.99. And then there is the Microsoft Ergonomic Desktop set, which retails for $89.99.
These are all accessories, primarily meant for the fans of the Surface line. Expensive as some of these may be, they really do complete the set.
