website, that highlights its years of existence, and much has been written on the forming years of the company — from revenues of $16,000 in the first year on the market, to tens of billions in profit every year now. Here is what the page has about the vision:
“In 1975, Gates and Allen form a partnership called Microsoft. Like most start-ups, Microsoft begins small, but has a huge vision—a computer on every desktop and in every home. During the next years, Microsoft begins to change the ways we work.”Several other high profile executives joined the software firm, including recently retired CEO Steve Ballmer, on June 11, 1980. And soon after, Microsoft began to expand its product lineup, with products like MS-DOS, Windows and Office being the cornerstones of success. Interestingly, Bill Gates and Paul Allen reunited and recreated their classic 1981 Microsoft photo this Tuesday night at a private event. Here is the original, by the way: Anyway, fast forward to 2014, and we now have the third leader in Redmond history in charge, in Satya Nadella, with several other upper management changes in the process. The new Microsoft was there for all to see at the recently concluded BUILD 2014 developer conference. And with the newfound emphasis on cloud and mobile, the technology giant is readily tweaking and adjusting its product lineup in order to better address the needs of both the end consumers, small and large businesses and enterprises. Happy anniversary, Microsoft! That picture from 39 years ago is super funny too. haha
Thanks for including both photos for a comparison. Bill Gates looks like he’s 13 in the original! lol.. Age doesn’t matter when you’re that brilliant though.
Very true. However, it’s not the funniest part of the pictures. That title goes to those computers! ha! Oh, how far we have come in 39 years. :p
Guys, I think everyone can agree that both the computers and young Bill Gates are comical! Great pictures. Thanks for posting. Congrats to Microsoft, and in particular, Paul Allen and Bill Gates.
39 years. Incredible run for these two. The comparison shows how far they’ve come in that time.
You’re absolutely correct. To accomplish what these guys did in any time period is unreal. The empire Microsoft is today obviously wouldn’t exist without these two. Well done guys.
