details were posted on the Microsoft Store Facebook page, and here are the new locations along with the opening dates: May 3 North Point Mall, Alpharetta, GA May 13 The Oaks, Thousand Oaks, CA Park Place, Tucson, AZ Jordan Creek Town Center, Des Moines, IA May 15 FlatIron Crossing, Broomfield, CO North Star Mall, San Antonio, TX Westroads Mall, Omaha, NE May 17 The Mall in Columbia, Columbia, MD The Maine Mall, S Portland, ME Mall of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, LA Boise Towne Square, Boise, ID Now, obviously, these are smaller locations. Think along the lines of small outlets in large shopping centers or malls. But they do sell many of the products that are available in the regular Microsoft Store locations — Windows powered tablets and smartphones, software, and accessories. And in case sales really pick up, Microsoft can always upgrade these special locations to full blown Microsoft Stores with a bigger selection of products.]]>

  • Great it’s about time. Microsoft has too many great products out there right now for them to be left at the mercy of uninformed retail and media people. Mary Joe Foley commented last week how she heard a store clerk tell a customer the absolutely wrong thing about a Microsoft product, then she corrected him once he walked away. A lot of these people in the retail space just repeat the BS they read on blogs of they heard that people have said on blogs and in the media. They don’t even try to get informed about the products they sell. Now on the subject of Windows Phone, it’s great to have a place for them to sell their stuff, but they need to start making some deals with these minor carriers and re-sellers. It’s like liquor stores, every corner has some mom and pop operation selling Android phones
