The education sector represents a significant one for Microsoft, and the company once again seems to be in generous mood as it has just announced a new campaign for teachers and instructors.

The company is providing 10,000 educators a Surface RT tablet for free.

This giveaway is part of the Windows in the Classroom Surface Experience project, and is made in collaboration with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). As Brian Lewis, CEO of ISTE explained in a post:

“This bold move is illustrative of Microsoft’s commitment to the effective use of technology in education. It’ll be fantastic to watch attendees take their conference learning experience to the next level through the power of their new Surfaces and to hear about the ways they use them with their students.”

Bold move indeed, and equally admirable as well!

The Windows RT devices will be handed out to teachers who participate in the Windows in the Classroom Surface Experience project during the conference that is set to take place between June 23 and June 26 in San Antonio, Texas.

Online registration for the event ends soon, on June 18.

Educators that are attending the conference must bring a gift acknowledgment letter from Microsoft, signed by a school official before they can claim their free Surface tablet.
