Windows 8.1 is a bit of a perfect storm. The new operating system is at complete ease on desktop and laptop computers, but the experience is even more amplified on tablets.

The technology titan wants to sell no less than 16 million units of Windows 8.1 tablets.
Now, this may seem a bit of an ambitious (or at least, excessively high) figure in such a short amount of time, but a lot of this depends on how the public takes to the second generation Surface slates, and the myriad of new Windows 8.1 devices that have started to hit store shelves.

They just need to offer some big holiday sales like $100 off if you buy a Suface and cover together. Maybe even more off if you add a phone or X-box to it. People love sales. Then they also need to have rappers, r&b singers, reality starts, and movie actors being seen with their devices. Maybe a popular ad character like the Gecko, Flo, or some of the other insurance commercials wouldn’t hurt.
I hope to win the lottery, neither is going to happen. However, if they pushed their marketing harder and got their product out there for people to know and understand they might sell 7 or 8 million.
