iFixit has released their 2017 review, and Microsoft products, along with Apple devices, have been listed as the ones that are the most difficult to service and repair.

Basically, the Worst Devices of 2017.

Microsoft and Apple products topped this list with the worst scores, proving the hardest to repair. In fact, the number one place goes to the new Surface Laptop, which saw Microsoft get a score of 0 points out of a maximum 10 — meaning it is practically impossible to repair if it breaks down.

iFixit revealed this June that this laptop is not meant to be opened or repaired, and users are not able to get inside without inflicting a lot of damage. Replacing certain parts like the CPU, RAM, and storage is actually impossible because they are soldered to the motherboard.

While some parts can only be reached by removing other components.

Next up is the new Surface Pro and the Surface Book 2, both with 1 points each, and these are followed by the two Apple devices — the 2017 MacBook and the new iPad with 1 and 2 points respectively.

Moral of the story is that if you own one of these devices, it is best not to open them up for repair all by yourself, as there is a good chance that you will break it down.

Experts are another story, but even professional repairpersons will find going tough.
