Redmond has recently delivered this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle of updates for aiming to fix a number of its products and services, from various versions of Windows and Internet Explorer to Silverlight.
In between, the company has been collecting a number of bug reports from users that have installed the public preview version of the upcoming Windows 8.1. Now the software titan has published a bunch of improvements for machines that have installed Windows 8.1 Preview.
A total of five different updates are released that are supposed to fix some of the most important bugs and issues found in the OS update.
The fixes in this newest batch of updates include reported issues with Internet Explorer 11 Preview, stabilization of the Windows Store app after an update, notifications about the expiration date of the operating system and smart card PIN disclosure after an automatic restate of Windows Update.
All these patches are delivered automatically via the integrated Windows Update feature, meaning no user interaction is required.
If you have installed the Windows 8.1 Preview, make sure you download and deploy these new fixes.
Many more fixes are likely to be released in the coming weeks, as Microsoft nears the launch of the RTM version of Windows 8.1 in August. The public launch could take place soon after that, maybe even next month according to a new report.
