If there is one market that Microsoft seems keener than ever to target with Windows 8.1, it is the enterprise sector. The software titan has promised to bring several enhancements in the upcoming refresh of its flagship OS to assist businesses and enterprises.

And now the company has just released a new Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows 8.1.

These handy little tools are designed to help system administers easily deploy the new operating system, while providing them with quick access to a number of improvements specifically aimed at enterprises.

TechTarget has the full lowdown, but the ADK 8.1 comes with goodies like Windows Preinstallation Environment 5.0, User State Migration Tool 6.3, Windows System Image Manager, Deployment Image Servicing and Management and Application Compatibility Toolkit.

Volume Activation Management Tool, Windows Performance Toolkit and Windows Assessment Toolkit are also included in this newest ADK.

Redmond recently presented the Windows 8.1 Enterprise at TechEd 2013 conference, and provided users with an early glimpse at what the future holds for this particular flavor of its operating system.

The company also unveiled a number of features specifically aimed at enterprises when it officially detailed Windows 8.1 a week or so back.

Along with enhanced security, the new OS brings several options aimed at businesses like modern access controls, support for fingerprint biometrics, network behavior monitoring for Windows Defender, NFC tap-to-pair printing, WiFi Direct printing, broadband tethering, auto-triggered VPN and more.
