post states:

“More and more apps are being developed or updated to work with Cortana, your virtual personal assistant available on Lumia and other phones with Windows Phone 8.1. They integrate with Cortana’s listening capability so you can ask her to perform tasks within those apps using just your voice. So without further ado, here are just a few of the apps that can be used with Cortana to make your life more productive and enjoyable.”
So the selection? Things start with Cortrends, move onto the trendy Foursquare, there is also the fan favorite MixRadio, the universally popular Skype, and finally the recently updated Twitter. The blog post also provides details of these apps that work with Cortana, so you might want to take a look at it. • All apps that make sense to be in the first generation of Cortana integration. IS the plan to eventually have all the apps integrated with Cortana or will it always be just a select number of them?

    • Good question. i would imagine that once Cortana is fully functional, all apps and games will have some interaction with Cortana. That’s just a guess, but it makes sense to me.
