But the Surface line isn’t going anywhere! Right? Not the most ideal news, but Microsoft has made the decision to close its Surface support Twitter account.
And instead is pushing customers towards the Microsoft Support Twitter account for all queries and questions that they have for its products. For what it’s worth, the Surface Support account is set to close next week, on August 28 to be exact.
The software titan officially confirmed this yesterday:

Of course, this is not the first time that Redmond has done something like this.
You may recall that, a year or so ago, almost to the day, Microsoft killed off the Lumia Help Twitter account, directing customers to the main Microsoft Support account. For some odd reason, they even closed the official Lumia YouTube account yesterday.
But all that happened because the company was moving away from the Lumia brand.
No such issues with the Surface brand, obviously. Microsoft just released two new devices a couple of months back. This is more of a consolidation of the many social media accounts that the company has for its services and products.
And while a case can be made that more ways for customers to reach the company are always better, this decision is primarily based on Microsoft’s overall branding efforts for its support pages.
It will, no doubt, result in Redmond taking more time to answer support inquires.
But what can you do, eh?
