latest one is a particularly well designed piece that shows how a version of Windows could be tweaked for use on smaller screens. As the designer explains:
“The new Microsoft Smartwatch comes with the new Windows Wear 8.1 experience, so the things that matter most are always with you. Exclusive Live Tiles keep you to speed with what’s happening in your world.”Android Wear works, but Windows Wear is an absolutely perfect name for this flavor of Microsoft’s operating system. Fat chance the company will call it this, though. Anyway, take a look at the gallery below: [gallery ids="69051,69052,69053,69054,69055,69056"] As you can see, the concept envisions a smartwatch that is powered by Windows 8.1 (the big question is, why not Windows 9?), and borrows several elements from the desktop operating system, including its colorful design and Live Tiles. As far as the hardware is concerned, a 1.45-inch screen with a dual-core processor is envisioned, while standard features like apps and Cortana also make the cut. A word about the price. The concept designer believes that Microsoft might launch this smartwatch at an affordable point of $250, which is not far from the figures others have thrown around previously. We’ll just have to wait a while to get the official lowdown, but a design like this works for me. And you?]]>

It looks superb, but does it exist? Is this just the imaginings of some artist not even connected with Microsoft? Or does it come from Microsoft itself?
Thats the genius of the metro interface. Its very adaptable and fits on many surfaces and screen sizes unlike other systems such as iOS. One major limitation here (where the iWatch would succeed) is fitting this interface on a round device such as the Moto 360. I believe that most people will be drawn to round devices as its a more natural interface for a watch. The Moto 360 from a design perspective is a fantastic example of exceptionally good hardware design.
Fair point.
I am not a fan of the square design. However, live-tile interface really fits nicely here and the watch concept seem to be the thinnest design I have seen to date. If they manage to make the final product similar to these pictures, I’d own it :).
As long as it looks good. we have to remember that a watch is still fashion
Exactly. Important, important factor.
Unlike the apple watch and the android watch, this Windows Smartwatch is very attractive and I would buy a couple for myself and some for gifts.
Yeah, really excited for what Microsoft has in store for this. While a Microsoft smartwatch would be great, I am also interested in what sort of Windows powered smartwatches other companies create.
I am with you on that and will continue reading eyeonwindows to find out as I know you will keep me upto date on this and all windows topics.
Thanks, pal. 🙂 Glad to have you among us! Always a pleasure reading what your comments, so keep ’em coming.
