Eager, are we? Microsoft first showcased its dual-screen Surface Duo Android device at an event in October last year. But its successor, Surface Duo V2, is apparently already in development.
The handset itself is about to see daylight in just a few weeks.
But we got our first hint at its successor entering early development yesterday, when news about Microsoft acquiring Movial made the rounds. This is the Finnish company that has been developing the operating system for the Duo.
However, a further update on the matter clarified that Microsoft has not actually acquired Movial, but rather hired its key employees in an effort to boost its Android and Windows development.
Hidden among these details is the confirmation that the same team will also handle the Android OS work for the second-generation Surface Duo, known right now only as Surface Duo V2. According to unnamed sources, work on this foldable device has just begun.

The original Surface Duo is set to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, which will be paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Leaks have suggested that the smartphone features an 11MP camera, and houses two 5.6-inch AMOLED displays.
5G support, wireless charging, and NFC capabilities are said to be missing, which are all possibilities for the second-generation Surface Duo V2.
