Redmond is on bit of a roll lately when it comes to updates to Windows 8 apps. The company is preparing to lay the turf for the release of Windows 8.1, the first upgrade to its new platform that is set for release in a couple of months.
But upgrades are one thing — regular updates are another.
And Microsoft seems to have picked up pace when it comes to updating its Metro apps. The company has just released an update for the Windows 8 Reader app that delivers a number of bug fixes and performance improvements to users of its latest operating system.
The official release notes published on the Windows Store reveal that this new version of the Reader app comes with several improvements for the handwriting tool. Enhanced stability along with increased performance is also on offer.
One often requested feature has also made the cut in this new version — the addition of a print option in app commands. Meaning now it is even easier for users to print the PDF files that have been opened in the Modern UI.
These new improvements are available for both Windows 8 and Windows RT users.
Reader, obviously, is offered with a freeware license on all Windows 8 flavors. And users can download this new version from the Windows Store. If you are yet to do so, and regularly use the app, make sure you get the new version as soon as you can.
