The technology titan has just announced that it will open a new special store in downtown Seattle. The company is looking to open new stores across the United States in order to bring its latest products closer to buyers across the country.
This report by BizJournals has all the details, and the Pacific Place outlet will be located on the third floor of the shopping center and provide access to a limited product range from the company.
Products that are expected to be available include Surface tablets and Windows 8.
Redmond has seemingly outlined a new strategy where it is complimenting its main Microsoft Stores (ones that offer an expanded range of products) with smaller specialty stores, and even the Windows Stores in Best Buy locations across the US and Canada.
No details yet on whether this new store in Seattle is to be a permanent or temporary location, but this much is clear that this new store is supposed to help the company in increasing the adaption of its new Windows 8 platform.
The new operating system is soon going to receive its first major upgrade later this year.
Windows 8.1 (codenamed Windows Blue) is poised to bring a large number of enhancements to the company’s flagship operating system. A preview version of the new OS is scheduled to be unveiled next week at the BUILD developer conference in San Francisco.
