There is a new build of Windows 8.1 out in the wild. Microsoft partners in China are said to be testing this particular build, and now we have another screenshot of the desktop to go with the one in the original report.
Windows 8.1 build 9477 was reported to be in existence yesterday.
A number of Microsoft partners have received this brand new version that, according to reports, is said to be very close to RTM. And now a new screenshot that shows the desktop of this new build confirms that this version is under final testing as of this writing.
Once again, no details have been provided on anything that is new in build 9477.
And as the image above shows, there are no visible changes — the Start button is still there, along with all other elements. No idea, however, if a particular feature has been updated or any other new options that may have been introduced in this build.
For all intents and purposes, this screenshot is more of a confirmation that build 9477 exists.
Microsoft is said to be on track to send Windows 8.1 to OEMs in just a few days (end of this month, to be exact). And general availability of the new operating system is being prepared for October. The software titan has already announced that Windows 8.1 is set to launch on October 18.
