Perhaps one of the biggest enhancements to Windows 8.1 is the search feature built into the operating system. Microsoft has confirmed that search in the new version of Windows is up for a radical overhaul.
The greatly improved search option in Windows 8.1 will allow users to search not just files, but apps and settings along with web-based content right within the Metro UI.
And this opens up a world of possibilities for web based searching.
For examples users will be able to look for images online with just a couple of clicks — or taps, depending on the type of device Windows 8.1 is installed on. And remarkably, all results will be displayed on the Start screen along with suggestions as the query is typed.
If this isn’t bringing the Internet in the hands of the users, then I don’t know what is.
You can take a look at how the new search options will function in Windows 8.1 in this new batch of screenshots posted by Win8China. The new search makes the most of the Metro UI that comes with Windows 8.1 and the same Modern design assists users as they perform searches.
