Microsoft released a new commercial that shows some of the tweaks made in Windows 8.1.

What’s particularly interesting is that Windows 8.1 is wisely not mentioned in the ad. Consumers are confused enough and don’t need even more distractions.

The Next Web have pointed out that the video’s description on Youtube has the following:

Windows 8 customers can update to Windows 8.1 for free in the Windows Store, starting October 18th, 2013. With the return of the Start button, new ways to personalize your Start screen, and more ways to do more things at once, the new Windows gives you one experience for everything in your life. http://msft.it/NewWindows

It seems that Microsoft is not shy about emphasizing the return of the Start Button.

It’s a nice quick and clean ad and I’m sure it’s the first of many.

What do you think about this new commercial?

  • I like it but I think it needs more dancing 😉 (I know I’m never stratified)

  • I actually saw this commercial the other night. It’s a good commercial. Personally I don’t have a problem with any Windows or Surface commercial that was run this year. I think they could have done more to set them up, possibly with more information, but I have no problem with the IDEA of some of the commercials.
