The Windows Phone 8 platform saw a busy few months towards the end of last year and the beginning of this, but things have leveled up a bit now, with supply issues behind us and several smartphones on the market.
All eyes are not set on what is in store for the platform later this year.
Word is that the third quarter of 2013 will provide users with the possibility of purchasing several new Windows Phone devices from manufacturers large and small — companies like HTC, Huawei, Nokia and Samsung are all set to unleash new Windows Phone 8 handsets.
We do not have anything official from any company right now, but a new report over at WMPowerUser claims that all four vendors are currently working on new devices that are set to see daylight sometimes during the second half of the year.
Nokia is said to be preparing a new generation of its flagship Lumia smartphones, but before that the Finnish company is keen to release the previously rumored EOS and Catwalk smartphones.
HTC is also all ready to join the party, and the long anticipated Tiara is said to go official in two flavors, one with LTE connectivity and another one without. Samsung, meanwhile, is poised to bring a Cronus LTE device to market in the third quarter.
Not to be left alone, Huawei is set to release the Ascend WQ 5.
Additionally, chatter has it that Microsoft has already sent the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 operating system to manufacturing, meaning that these new smartphones are set to be unveiled very soon.
