With each passing day we get nearer to the anticipated Nokia World 2013 event in Abu Dhabi, where the Finnish telecom giant is expected to unveil a bunch of new handsets and devices on October 22.

And now some new pictures showing one of the devices have made their way to the web.

These images show the upcoming phablet, the Lumia 1520, and actually come for China this time. These have been leaked by the folks over at WMPowerUser, and while there is nothing new in terms of design, form factor or features that we have not seen before, these do show the device in action.

In particular these images show how the phablet measures up to other handsets in size.

The Lumia 1520 is Nokia’s first foray into the phablet domain — this is the first really large screen handset released that is powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system.

A huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen with a full HD (1080p) display resolution can be found on the Lumia 1520. In terms of hardware, the device is said to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, guaranteeing lightning fast processing and graphics.

It will also house a powerful 6-element camera at the back.

The official unveiling of the device at the Nokia World 2013 event should also provide us with our first real look at the upcoming Windows Phone 8 GDR3 release — one that promises to bring about a bunch of new features as well as support for more powerful hardware to the mobile platform.
