We have some bad news for Windows Phone fans that were planning to get their hands on Nokia’s first phablet. The launch of the large screen Lumia 1520 seems to have been delayed by almost a month.
Something like this was always on the cards, keeping the recent events in mind.
And even though these are still rumors, with Nokia yet to make any official statement, these two reports come from the most reliable of sources. The launch event that the Finnish smartphone maker had scheduled for September 26 in New York City may be pushed back.
Both evleaks and The Verge are reporting this to be the case.
According to earlier speculation on this matter, the Nokia Lumia 1520 (codenamed Bandit), along with a rumored Nokia Windows RT tablet were to be announced during this event. Now a new date has been set for October 22 – though the place is yet to be finalized.
The reasons for this change are unknown as of right now.
But if rumors are to be believed that Nokia was preparing a Windows RT tablet announcement. And there is a fair chance that it may have decided to delay the event as the next generation Surface announcement from Microsoft is also scheduled for later this month.
More information on this should float up in the days to come, so stay tuned.
