Nokia’s red hot flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone landed in several new countries at the start of the New Year, with several others slated for the end of this month.

The latest revisions to the Lumia line of handsets were met with enthused demands right from the launch, but the Finnish giant struggled to fill the inventory.

The low demand issues are still there, but apparently things have picked up to the extent that Nokia is sending the smartphones to several markets, including United Kingdom, Spain, East Africa, India, and later in January, Netherlands.

According to Telecompaper, Vodafone Spain has started offering the Nokia Lumia 920 in two colors (black and white) to its business and self-employed customers. Industry experts expect the smartphone to sell out in a few days due to a combination of two factors —high demand and low supply.

Both the Lumia 920 and 820 are also selling well in India, where they were made available for purchase over the weekend. In fact, the mid-range Lumia 820 proved more popular at some retailers there.

Nokia also launched the Lumia 920 at Vodafone UK, after promising the smartphone will be available in the United Kingdom beginning early 2013. The device is available from two online retailers, but Three UK is also set to get the handset (see what I did there) in February.

Exceptionally high demand is also seen in Netherlands, with preorders set for late January.

All said and done, it appears Nokia is turning things around when it comes to Lumia 920. The company appeared to be losing ground to other Windows Phone 8 smartphones (by HTC and Samsung) due to supply issues, and while it is not yet all rosy, things are improving.
