Nokia Lumia 928 Now Official, Coming To Verizon On May 16

After a series of rumors and teaser videos, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia official took the wraps off its Lumia 928 smartphone, set to arrive at Verizon Wireless.

The new device will hit Verizon in black and white on May 16, and comes with a price tag of $99.99 — after a $50 mail-in-rebate — with a two-year customer agreement. An official announcement on the company’s Conversations blog details this new smartphone in all its glory.

Matt Rothschild, the vice president of Nokia North America announced the smartphone and hyped up its impressive camera capabilities:

“Verizon Wireless customers, we heard you and the wait is over – we’re excited to offer a Nokia flagship smartphone, specially designed and optimized for the nation’s largest 4G LTE network.

Whether you’re attending a party, a concert or a sporting event with friends, the Nokia Lumia 928 excels at capturing high-quality video, audio and blur-free photos of life’s most share-worthy moments.”

Lumia 928 will be packing global connectivity inside, and buyers can snap it up through Verizon’s online web store along with the carrier’s retail locations in the United States. Additionally, Nokia has announced a special, limited-time promotion for this particular smartphone.

The company will be providing buyers with $25 credit for Windows Phone Store to download apps and games for their shiny new device.

And a shiny new device it is — the Nokia Lumia 928 marks its arrival with a 4.5-inch OLED display capable of pushing a 1280 by 768 pixel resolution. An 8.7 megapixel PureView camera sits on the back, and comes with the ability to record video in full HD.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is obviously powered by Windows Phone 8, along with a series of exclusive applications from Nokia like HERE Maps, HERE Drive+, HERE Transit and HERE City Lens.
