When it rains it pours! Rumors about Nokia working on an Android handset of two have been going on since the age of mobility itself. And they still persist, even as the company was snapped up by Microsoft late last year.
The speculation took another turn earlier this week when it was claimed that Redmond is okay with Nokia developing this affordable Android powered handset.
And now it has allegedly showed up in AnTuTu benchmarks that show the hardware specifications of the mobile phone. The model number of this handset is Nokia A110, and it is powered by Android 4.4.1 operating system, codenamed KitKat.
As this report notes, the smartphone is capable of delivering a pixel resolution of 854 by 480 pixels.
It also sports a 5 megapixel camera, though no signs of earlier reports that suggested the device was to arrive with dual SIM and dual standby capabilities. A 4-inch touchscreen display is rumored.
Nokia has already started using Qualcomm chips for its smartphones, at least those powered by Windows Phone, and it is reasonable to expect the company to do the same if it goes in with Android.
In any case, take the information above on face value, particularly when keeping in mind that benchmarks like these can easily be forged. But this is not the first time we have heard the Nokia Normandy codename.
And it probably will not be the last.
