these posts on its Conversations blog, the Finnish telecommunication giant teases some of the new features that its Lumia handsets are now capable of providing to users. Prime among these is a redesigned Calendar application, which goes hand in hand with the brand new digital assistant that Microsoft has made part of Windows Phone 8.1. It opens up in a new week view that brings better visibility for the planned events for the week:
“Much like Outlook’s web calendar, your new Nokia Lumia with Windows 8.1 now includes the local weather, giving you a quick forecast for the day or rest of the week.”Cortana is also very deeply integrated in Lumia handsets now, and helps users do more on their devices in an easy and effortless way. The digital assistant is able to read and add calendar entries, notify a number of things, even deliver flight information and email confirmations. It, obviously, also comes with a Notebook function, something like a personal profile that records and keeps details on preferences and interests of a user. All these functionalities will be present on the Lumia 630, Lumia 635 and the Lumia 930 at launch. The remaining Nokia Lumia smartphones will get access to them in the summer, when Windows Phone 8.1 officially launches.]]>

I’ll have to wait to try it firsthand, but as of now it seems more ambitious and better than Siri. I would hope so since it’s taken longer for it to come out!
Cortana is nice though still in Beta. I really look forward to how she evolves over time
Good point. Even with Cortana still being in beta, I think this has potential to blow siri out of the water. Time will tell.
How long until Cortana is officially released? Is there any legitimate timetable?
