heard about the Nokia Treasure Tag all those months ago (October last year, actually), but it is only in April that the accessory will hit the market. For the uninitiated, this is a very small accessory measuring the size of a small match box at 30 x 30 x 10mm. It weighs even less at only 13 grams. But it offers unmatched functionality — pun intended. Users can easily attach their keys, bags, wallets and more to the Treasure Tag and then sync it with their Lumia smartphones. And whenever they move away from it, they will be automatically alerted. This post on the Nokia Conversations blog sheds more light on the matter:
“How many times have you left the house, only to realise you’ve left your wallet, or your phone, sitting on the kitchen table? All of us, from time-to-time. That’s all about to change with the Nokia Treasure Tag.”The accessory can be paired with a Lumia smartphone via NFC, and the company has also developed the Nokia Treasure Tag companion app, which first time users will be prompted to download. Users will then be able to pair up to four different Nokia Treasure Tags to their handsets at the same time, and will get the ability to assign icons and photos for each of them. These can then even be placed on the Start Screen as Live Tiles — in matching colors, of course. Offered in yellow, cyan, black and white, the Nokia Treasure Tag is powered by a standard coin battery, which should offer enough juice to last up to six months. The accessory will be available globally, Nokia has announced, for $29.90 a pop.]]>
