Windows RT is all set to get Microsoft Outlook 2013 RT, and one company that seems to be the happiest of the bunch is NVIDIA. CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, in particular, would be all smiles.
It was just a few months ago that the NVIDIA CEO asked, what he called the “Outlook gods” to help Microsoft bring Outlook to Windows RT, thereby making the operating system a much more appealing choice for users.
And now with the news that the popular email client is almost here, NVIDIA has praised the Outlook gods for making its wish a reality.
Not a company that would let a chance like this pass by, NVIDIA’s Mark Aevermann said in a blog post:
“Apparently they listened.
This is an exciting development that we believe will deliver a much more robust and full-featured experience to Windows RT users, including those with the Microsoft Surface RT, Lenovo Yoga 11 and ASUS VivoTab RT, which are all powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3.
Sure, it also provided it an opportunity to endorse some of the tablets that are powered by the company’s Tegra 3 solution, but at the end of the day NVIDIA is a close Microsoft partner that has invested a fair bit in the Windows RT platform.
Outlook 2013 RT is said to be debut at the same time with Windows 8.1 RT, and is expected to be available in desktop mode exclusively. Users that want to stick to the Metro UI have no choice but to stick with the built-in Metro Mail app.
But for most others, Outlook 2013 RT will go a long way in completing their Windows RT experience.
