Sick of waiting for Microsoft Office? The wait might finally be over. A new rumor suggests that the previous “March 31st” claim for launch isn’t correct– it’s actually much sooner.
According to ZDNet, their sources state that the date for the launch will actually be January 29th, which is only a few weeks away. The sources also claim that Redmond is hosting training sessions for its partners the week of the 21st in order to prepare them for new versions of Office 365 and Office 2013.
If all of this is to be believed, users in the United States will be the first to get the update, with it following to the rest of the world over the next several months and a complete roll-out globally no later than November of this year. Additionally, Offfice 2010 will stop being made available through Office 360 on April 8th of 2014.
January is shaping up to be a big month for Microsoft if this is ture, considering it is now believed that the Microsoft Surface Pro is launching right around the same timeframe.
So what do you think, are you ready to jump to Office 2013 or you perfectly fine with your current version?

Im currently using office 2010 and 2007 on windows and office on mac. I have to say that they do everything I need them perfectly well. A feature I am quite excited about however is Office 365 integration which will allow me to “stream” office to up to 5 computers. I also very much like the interface of Office 2007 and 2010 which I cannot really say about office 2013. For now I don’t see any reason to upgrade.
I checked out the early preview of Office 2013– and I must say I wasn’t that excited by the UI in 2013, either.
its not really about the UI, there are plenty new features
Very true, there are certainly plenty of new features to sink your teeth into. 🙂
Yes, I can hardly wait. So glad they have moved up the date. I plan to purchase a Surface Pro but wanted Office 2013 with the bigger/expandable ribbon buttons so I can take advantage of the touch screen with Office. Also I’m getting Office 365 so having Office 2013 at the same time makes sense. It all will fit together like a glove!
Im not sure if you have, but I would suggest you have a look at some of the Office 365 subscriptions which include office. Could be a cheaper alternative then a full license upright.
I strongly dislike office 2013 U.I, thus i am not sure i will upgrade to this version despite the so called new features. In fact i dislike the whole new Microsoft U.I design philosophy from Windows 8 to Office 2013. It is just ugly and very unpleasant to look at.
I have the same issue. The problem I am facing is Microsoft is updating Office 365 OWA (exchange) interface to the new design, so I am currently contemplating whether to ditch the features of Office 365 and move to google apps.
