surprise not too long ago when news of the mobile Office apps getting some integrated Dropbox feature was made official. An official Dropbox client for the Windows Phone platform is also said to be in development, with launch expected soon. Many hailed this change as a positive sign. And now iOS users have some new features available for them, whereby the official Dropbox apps are now integrated with the Microsoft Office suite in order to make editing easier. Well, not too easy, but an improvement overall. As reported here, accessing a document in Dropbox reveals a new Edit button. Pressing that automatically launches the correct Office app and opens up that particular document for editing. Smart and uncomplicated. Once a user makes the necessary changes and closes the Office application, the edited version is automatically saved on Dropbox. Additionally, while using any Office app, users can browse and save documents directly to the popular cloud storage service. This feature came to Android last week, as you may recall, and now iOS users can get in on the action too. Should help increase productivity just by a little, this welcome change.]]>
